Location
Erra Matti Dibbalu mean Red Mud Hillocks in Telugu, a notified National Geo-heritage Monument, is situated at the outskirts of Visakhapatnam City. It is located very near to the Bay of Bengal and is one of Visakhapatnam's many heritage sites.
Popularly known as the Red Soil Hills, these natural ravines spread extensively in various formations some jagged, some deep, some maze-like and some creating walls along trekking pathways thanks to recurring wind currents and soil erosion. Said to be over a million years old, they comprise sand, clay and silt and are acknowledged as a rare geographic phenomenon. They are also favourite location spots for film shootings and for tourists.

Erra Matti Dibbalu is 28 kms away from the Visakhapatnam city. There are RTC Buses to reach to this spot.
Best time to visit
Winter is the best time to visit the place and the temperature is around 15°C to 25°C. This nature wonderful and a unique location, it has deep ravine full of wonders to enjoy.

It is 17 Km from Erra Matti Dibbalu.It is located amidst Kambalakonda Reserve Forest in Vishakapatnam. It is the third largest zoo in the country.The zoological park is named after the former Prime Minister of India,Indira Gandhi.It covers an area of 625 acres. It is surrounded by the Eastern Ghats on three sides andBay of Bengal on the fourth side. Nearly eighty species of animals numbering to about eight hundred are present in the zoo.
INS Kurusura Musem
INS Kurusura is 22 Km away from Erra matti dibbalu.It is a museum established at the beach of Rama Krishna. INS Kurusura is a submarine constructed by Russians in the year 1969. It reached Visakhapatnam in 1970 via the Baltic Sea and since then served the Indian Navy.NS Kurusura served the Indian Navy for 31 years and then it was decommissioned and turned into a museum in 2001. With a length of 91.3 meters and breadth of 8 meters, the INS Kurusura submarine played a vital role in a number of wars including the 1971 Indo-Pak war.
