Location
It is the first Gandhi memorial in India on a hillock, is a major tourist spot in Vijayawada. Situated at a height of 500 ft was formally known as "Orr Hill". This Gandhi memorial with seven stupas was constructed to pay tribute to the Father of the Nation. It has the teachings of Gandhi inscribed on stone slabs. The Gandhi Memorial Library, Sound & Light Show and Planetarium are the added attractions of Gandhi Hill.

Gandhi hill is 1 kms from Railway Station and 3 kms way from Vijayawada Bus station.
Best time to visit
The Gandhi Hill is open to the public from 4 pm to 8.30 pm on all days, except Tuesday. Winter is the best time to visit the place.

Akkanna and Madanna Caves
It is 5 Km away from Gandhi hill. The famous rock-cut caves dedicated to Akkana and Madanna, who were ministers in the court of Abdul Hasan Tanashah in the 17th century are located here. A short distance away is another cave that dates back to the 2nd century BC, which hosts the Hindu trinity of Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshwara.
Prakasam Barrage
